Three Aboriginal Teens Arrested After Escaping From COVID-19 Quarantine Facility in Australia @COVID19Up: Australian police said on Wednesday (Dec. 1) they don't believe the three Aboriginal teens who scaled a fence and escaped from Darwin's Howard Springs COVID-19 quarantine facility at around 4:30am came into contact with members of the community. At a press conference, Northern Territory (NT) Chief Minister Michael Gunner confirmed the teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 17, tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. He said all three were had been sent into quarantine as close contacts of positive cases. NT Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker said officers found the trio on the edge of Palmerston and arrested them after a chase on foot. "There is absolutely no excuse for the actions of these three this morning," NT Chief Minister Gunner said. "This the first time we've had to use the center for large numbers of people from an Aboriginal community, but it probably won't be the last time," he added. Meanwhile, a baby boy from the Aboriginal community is the latest case of COVID-19 in the Northern Territory after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 at the same quarantine facility where the three teens escaped from.
